Independent Study is an opportunity for one-one-one teaching. It allows us to customize the learning, providing flexibility in how information is shared, how techniques are practiced and what materials are discussed. Conversely, workshops are designed to cover specific topics with particular goals in mind and are delivered in a small group setting of up to four people. They provide less opportunities for flexibility and individual attention and more interaction with peers.
Parchment and vellum work is an advanced technique that requires focus and concentration. The one-on-one format allows me to offer my full attention and dive deep into the nuances of this challenging technical skill.
I would suggest contacting me so we can discuss your experience and what you aim to learn.
This is the only format in which I teach Vellum and Parchment. However, if you are interested in Water Gilding and Leatherwork, then I suggest considering a workshop. Workshops offer a more affordable way to learn specific techniques with the added benefit of studying alongside people who have a similar interest.
Fees for tools and materials are included in the cost for the course.
